2007 USTSF/ITSF Event Schedule (North America only)

In the event that any one of the tournaments in the USA was to be cancelled, a backup tournament has been designated: Lloyd Mandel's $12,000 Upper Midwest Championships (May 4-6, 2007 in Burnsville, MN).

The above list reflects the current maximum allowable ITSF events for the continent of North America -- sorry that we could not have every tournament submitted by every tournament director/promoter make the cut. We also could have used some events on the west coast, the Pacific Northwest area and New England (none of the usual tournaments in those regions were submitted for ITSF sanctioning). However, the ITSF is already building the schedule of sanctioned events for 2008, so tournament directors please submit your 2008 events early and hopefully we can more evenly distribute locations then.

In December 2006 USTSF will provide the additional details that the approved tournament director/promoters will need to know (sanctioning fees, chart submission for ratings, etc). If you are one of the designated tournament directors/promoters for any of these events, please submit all future updates/changes directly to larry.davis@ustsf.foosball.com. Also, please feel free to post this to your respective websites or otherwise distribute/forward as appropriate.

2007 ITSF Points Ranking System

2007 Status Update (2/28/07):

ITSF continues to grow, expanding both its federation membership worldwide, its number of sanctioned tournaments, the number of competitive categories at its annual ITSF World Finals playoff in Italy, and in the ways it is giving back to the players with both grass roots development and international competition.  Of note, each year ITSF has added events to its World Finals in Italy, and so this year it will also include events for 17&Under Singles and Doubles and for 50&Over Singles & Doubles!  (USTSF is working up ways to provide the opportunity for USA players to compete in those added events, with 17&Under Singles qualifications already scheduled for the Kentucky State and Tornado Worlds.). The U.S. Open will be the National Champions Qualifier for Open Doubles, Women's Doubles and Women's Singles.

Note that there are four classes or "categories" of tournaments this year: World Championship Series, International Series, Master Series and Pro Tour Series. WC earns the most points, IC the next most and so on:

2006 Tour Event Points

Points are earned in Open events only and accumulate in the ITSF World Rankings towards free trips to the ITSF World Championships (in Italy the last two years), normally held in early November. The more of these events you play in, the more points you earn (you don't necessarily have to win the events, just accumulate enough points...). Robert Mares, Tony Spredeman, Billy Pappas, Stayce Fowler and Dusty Bambenek are past trip winners from the USA, and did quite well.

Good luck to all those points chasers out there (and in the last two years there already were a few)!!

P.S. Check this link out for photos (or should I say, mugshots) of all the competitors at the 2005 ITSF World Championship playoffs in Italy. Quite the motley crew, but at the same time, some exceptionally fierce competitors young and old from all around the planet representing all five official tables:
